Gossip surrounding Amanda Jenssen’s private life is NOT something we participate in. The only rumours and speculations you will read here are strictly concerning her music and professional life in general.
Feel like contributing?
▪ Concert reports. Unfortunately, not even a hardcore fan can manage to be at all of Amanda’s concerts. That’s why we would like to publish concert reports from as many gigs as possible. Anyone who can type decent English, has good knowledge about Amanda’s music and feels compelled to write a concert report is welcome to contribute.
▪ Photos. Our goal is to have a photo from each concert in the Gigography section. There are a number of concerts missing pictures. We would also like to add more photos to our Flickr stream. Therefore we would be truly greatful if you would be willing to send an e-mail with your photo/s attached.

Amandaism goes international
Welcome to a brand new Amandaism! The inofficial website that keeps Amanda Jenssen fans updated on news surrounding the Swedish gangster jazz sensation is back with a new design, new features, and above all – a new language.
Turning the Amandaism communication language to English might take some getting used to for our regular Swedish readers. But we trust your loyalty and hope you’ll be by our side through our mission. Amanda is likely to generate thousands upon thousands of devoted fans from across the world. We would like to offer all of you Amandaism as the common ground – a place where we all can get together to read and share all things Amanda (well, almost – have a look at our No-Gossip-Policy in the left-hand column) .
From now on you’ll find us through our new domain amandaism.org, but you’ll be redirected here from amandaism.se as well as amandaismen.blogspot.com.
As you’ll notice there are several additions to the new site. In the right-hand column there’s for instance a Twitter-box and a Facebook-box. Follow us on Twitter and/or become a fan on Facebook to make sure you’re instantly updated when new information is out.
Also, a brand new Flickr account has been created. You might want to scroll down a bit and take a look at the current photos by clicking on the Flickr widget on the right-hand side. As you can see, there’s obviously room for a whole bunch of photographs from concerts, meet and greets or what have you. The bigger the gallery gets, the happier we (and we’re betting all our readers) will be. Therefore we strongly encourage all readers to submit their own pictures of Amanda Jenssen to be added to the gallery.
So once again, welcome to Amandaism. ”A new day has begun”, indeed.
The Netherlands, the tour and upcoming goodness
The past week Amanda Jenssen paid a visit to the Netherlands. She was interviewed by Jimmy Alter, CJP and Reuters. At Giel Amanda performed Amarula tree live, accompanied by Pär Wiksten. Pictures from the trip can be found at the official website.
Back in Sweden it was announced that Amanda will be one of the hosts of the popular radio show Sommar. Tune in Sveriges Radio P1 July 8 to hear Amanda talk about her yet unfulfilled dreams and listen to some of Amanda’s favourite songs.
Only one concert was scheduled for June, and took place in Gothenburg Monday night. Expressen and GP were there to report and review.
For those of you in the mood for spreading the Amandophilus bug, browse onto the Swedish evening papers’ websites. Expressen has nominated eight candidates battling to become ”Årets skåning” (”‘Skåning’ of the year”), and the Rockbjörnen section at Aftonbladet are assembling nominations. So make sure you’ll vote until your fingers are sore!

The new song on YouTube
Thank you to Lova who gave us a tip in the comment field about the clip she recorded of Amanda while singing her new song at Lundakarnevalen. Now everybody has the chance to listen to it – which as a suggestion goes under the name Dry my soul until further notice.
Double up at Aftonbladet
Aftonbladet has also reviewed Amanda’s concert at Siestafestivalen yesterday. Per Magnusson gives her three out of five possible.
Besides, the Rockbjörn nomination has started. This year the Rockbjörn party is going to be more expensive than ever before according to Aftonbladet. The price ceremony is September 1st, but you can start voting now.

Kvällsposten has reviewed Amanda’s concert at Siestafestivalen and gives her three out of five wasps.
Commersen has summed up the festival so long and has taken a picture on Amanda.
PSL: ”Amanda + Skåne = TRUE”
We’ve got another tip in the comment field. Amanda Jenssen is interviewed by Per Sinding-Larsen after her gig on Siestafestivalen.
We also get to know that PSL ”recorded an interview to this autumn’s festival programme” – something to keep both eyes and ears open for.
Besides everything, it reveals that Amanda is going on a trip to Holland and that she also is going to participate in a German TV show. All this before the long June vacation.
Review from Siesta
We got a tip in the comment field about a review from Amanda’s gig on Siestafestivalen in Hässleholm yesterday. Maria Zandihn from norraskåne.se established that the concert was a delight for both eyes and ears.
Ny låt på turnépremiär
Emilie Kilström gästrapporterar för amandaism.org från Amanda Jenssens spelning på Lundakarnevalen.
Det står en okänd man på scenen med en kontrabas, vars träslag drar mer åt det brandgula hållet i jämförelse med det mörkådriga mästerverket Tobbe the Tank i vanliga fall lägger basslingor med.
Den okände mannen, som vi senare får veta heter Erik och agerar vikarie, börjar spela den fyrtonsskala vi känner som inledningen till Save me for a day. När bandet ansluter och Pärs mullrande tremologitarr ekar över Lundagård faller en känsla av trygghet över mig.
Dock trillar tryggheten på sniskan när efterföljande låt inte är Common Henry, utan Borderline. Under tiden Amanda växlar mellan halvliggande läge i den bordeauxfärgade fåtöljen och till att med svindlande beslutsamhet klättra upp på pianots ovanpanel hinner jag med en utflykt i känslospektrat; från förbluffad förvirring till ett sådant där nästan smärtsamt kittlande, framkallad av spänningen ovissheten för med sig. Jag inser att dagens konsert kommer att bli ett minne att nagla fast i hjärnbarken.
Oviss om belåtenhet jag kommer att känna över att ha fått rätt, fortsätter jag leva mig in i låtarna som följer efter. Studsar på stället under The rebounder och ägnar en tanke för sjunde gången i ordningen åt hur otillfredsställande det är att återgå till att lyssna på Autopilot och Morninglight på skivan när man fått höra dessa live. Intensiteten och fylligheten i ljudbilden är förbättrad flera nivåer, men framförallt ligger förlusten i hur det visuella med en Amanda i desperation och nöd förstärker det emotionella i låtarna.
For the sun fortsätter att späda på föregående kval. Ett ord Amanda tidigt beskrev låten med var ”ökenballad”. Föreställ er att stå där på första raden och bevittna hur röken över scenen fångas av vindarna och dansar i små individuella kretslopp. Faktum är att det inte ens ser ut som rök. Det är sand. Jag befinner mig heller inte mitt i en karneval omringad av en rekordstor skara människor. Jag har förirrat mig i öknen och som sprunget ur mina hallucinationer står Amanda och gossarna där framför mig på en sanddyna för att begrava desillusionerna.
Men sedan vaknar jag – och vill i allra högsta grad befinna mig på Lundakarnevalens mest publikdragande konsert. För det är ju dags för Someday, och det visar sig att det är starten för ett fem låtar långt nej-nu-måste-ni-nästan-sluta-för-jag-orkar-inte-mer-galej.
Common Henry är högst strategiskt placerad som efterföljande låt eftersom peppet från Someday inte vill avta. Det är solklart hur väl Common Henry förtjänar lek och röj inte bara från scenen, utan även från publiken.
Därefter yttrar Amanda Jenssen de magiska orden:
- Nu ska vi spela en ny låt.
Dra mig baklänges och skicka mig till himlen. Med ena foten i vårdslös rock ’n’ roll och andra foten i en rhythm & blues så headbangstwistande att nackspärren och yrseln blir nästintill dödliga, så dundrar Amanda loss i en shout blues uppbackad av anarko-doo-wop-körgossarna.
Vi får höra att låten är utan text. Min röst går till att göra klart den så snart som möjligt för att vidareutveckla konceptet till en ny platta med rhythm & blues av det skitigaste slaget. Pronto!
Tack och lov slipper vi försöka varva ner efter det nya mästerverket. Amarula tree och Happyland följer, Amanda spenderar mestadels av sin tid nere i publiken och berättar om stötarna hon får av micken som hon först irriterat sig på – men som hon nu gillar.
Stämningen är just elektrisk, och faktumet är att det funkar även när Amanda kliver in på scenen igen för att spela Sing me to sleep som första extranummer. Ett utmärkt verktyg för att dra publiken intill sig för att sedan gruppteleporteras till en svunnen tid där Minnie the moocher regerar.
När konserten är slut och det blivit dags att traska hemåt går det förbi tre sällskap som alla kör sin egna ”hidehidehidehi”-sing-along. Den som påstod att man inte kan bli profet i sin egen stad har uppenbarligen inte sett Amanda Jenssen fylla Lundagård till sprängningsgränsen. Och som hon gjorde det.

AmandaLover on AlltomTv noticed that Amanda is going to take part in the celebration of the Swedish crown princess Victoria’s birthday in Borgholm on Öland July 14th.
Many videos have showed up on YouTube: Amanda talking German in an elevator, singing at Lundakarnevalen in Lund and radiates summer feelings on Tosselilla sommarland.
The gig in Lund was reviewed by the student magazine Lundagård and it got four out of five cats.
