Amanda on Go’ kväll

Roger Krook has noted that Amanda Jenssen will be on tomorrow’s Go’ kväll. The show will consist of several spots broadcasted during the season, which means we will probably see a repeat of Amanda’s performance of The rebounder and Happyland that took place October 30th last year.

However, all risk averters out there should turn on SVT1 tomorrow at 18:15.

Weekly summary

This week Amandaism’s only updates were on Twitter, Facebook and Myspace. Therefore it’s about time we sum up everything that’s been going on this week.

AmandaLover shared some news on AlltOmTV: Amanda Jenssen was rewarded a scholarship of 40 000 SEK by SKAP, the Swedish pop music composers’ foundation.

At German unikosmos.de we find some lovely new pictures of Amanda.

Through Norwegian Plan B’s interview we learn that Amanda’s gig at Internasjonalen in Oslo was her first concert abroad where she was backed up by the whole band.

Eyjafjallajökull continues to puke ashes, consequently making miss Jenssen with entourage to hop into a car and road trip their way back home to Sweden. The official website documented the adventure.

While you’re on the website, have a look at the new Austrian version. But still it’s the German admins who are best at delivering sizzling hot news about Amanda’s progression in the country. Reviews are especially paid attention to, and a compilation of these will soon be found here on Amandaism.

Happyland high on the charts in Germany

Big thanks to Tomas, who posted a comment that informed us about a some delighting news (Amandaism’s translation):

‘And on the German iTunes chart Happyland is now in 10th place! That’s a lot of sold copies compared to a high ranking in Sweden, given that they’re 82 million and we’re only 9. (You can switch country by pressing the Swedish flag on the bottom of the iTunes store page).’

The above mentioned is in regard of the album Happyland – International Version. On top of that, both the single song Happyland off the album and the Happyland EP containing both the original version and the Desert Mist version of Happyland have taken place on the top 100.

It’s going to be really exciting to follow up on Amanda’s progression on the charts. Anyone who would like to have a look for themselves should check out the German, Swiss, Austrian, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian – and even the Swedish – charts regularly.

Switzerland and 2xFinland

Amanda Jenssen has been singing on radio in both Finland and Switzerland. The Finns get to watch and listen to Amanda  (wearing a ponytail!) battle with Pär over the small studio’s only mic during the Happyland performance. The following audio interview illustrates the rather amusing contrast between the radio host’s snappy Finnish-Swedish and Amanda’s usual slow-paced southern twang.

In Switzerland they set up a small stage in which Amanda, Pär and Edith (Backlund) all can move around both physically and vocally. The interview is written down and the headline ‘DJ Bobo? Never heard of’ fronts the article. The quote was Amanda’s answer to whether she knew of any Swiss super stars. Shortly after the question is posed Amanda is helped to recall the song Chihuahua – a song some of you might remember was featured in a video clip on a certain blog at TV4 (Swedish TV channel) that Amanda once had.

TV, blog and reviews

On Wednesday Amanda Jenssen made an appearance on Viva Live! – a German TV-show much like MTV’s TRL.

Yahoo Musik Deutschland’s music blog Star Portraits writes about Happyland and got a chance to sit down and have a chat with Amanda. One thing we learn is how Amanda would feel about writing songs to other singers.

Musicheadquarter.de and letmeentertainyou.de have both reviewed Happyland. Amanda can be proud to have received ratings of 7 out of 9 respectively 5 out of 5 from German music critics.

Whole bunch o’ news

A few days of absence is now resulting in a post bursting with news.

Those of you who are following Amandaism om Twitter may have already seen the video interview with Amanda that has been posted on both the German and the English official website. The German online magazine JMC interviews Amanda in English. Amanda, in her own words ”dressed like absinth”, is asked how she felt about performing in Berlin’s Absynthbar – amongst other things.

Womenweb.de offers the chance to win one of the five copies of Happyland – International Version in their possession. And at the official website’s German version we all can download Happyland (Desert Mist) free of charge.

On German radio station Sputnik Popkult they talk about Happyland – both descriptively and in an interview with Amanda. Unfortunately for some of us, we only hear Amanda speak half a sentence in English before the interview is dubbed into German.
